Sustainable development accounts for 30% of investments in the Trendeo France database

In our latest trend report, sent to our subscribers at the end of September, we noted a sharp increase in sustainability-related investments.

Since 2009, we have identified 23 sectors linked to sustainable development:
more than 5,600 projects, nearly 130 billion euros invested, 109,000 jobs created...

The extract from our report below shows that these sectors are becoming increasingly important in terms of overall investments: in the second half of 2020 and the first half of 2023, more than 30% of the investment amounts identified by our analysts are linked to sustainable development.

New Aquitaine has often led the regional distribution of these investments, but recent projects in electric vehicles and batteries, or hydrogen, have pushed Hauts-de-France to the forefront.

This is probably a factor supporting demand, which partly explains the feeling that, for the past two years, we have regularly escaped the most pessimistic predictions.

But we wonder whether this trend will continue and whether some of these sectors will run out of steam, especially if their development depends on subsidies which are likely to become increasingly scarce.
