Is there really a trend reversal? Studies, such as Trendeo's, show the reality of this reindustrialization. We're not there yet, but the regional presidencies are very much involved in this industrial revival. And, with the French government and the France 2030 plan for a return to nuclear power, batteries, electric vehicles and so on, the political signals are coherent.

In fact, in its study published yesterday, Trendeo notes a global trend towards industrial relocation, which it has seen taking shape as investment returns to pre-Covid crisis levels by 2021. But the Trendeo study also describes a multifaceted phenomenon involving the shortening of supply chains, and the increasing robotization of the logistics apparatus. Last but not least, the study shows that in France, the trend towards relocation is mainly benefiting SMEs.

According to Trendeo data, the Covid pandemic has dented the momentum of industrial investment worldwide. This global fall masks very different realities, with some sectors in sharp decline and others, such as manufacturers, limiting the damage with increased demand for certain products. In any case, after 18 months, the recovery is here to stay.
