Information is becoming rarer, after a week marked by Choose France's announcements.
STMicroelectronics and GlobalFoundries announce a major investment in a gigafactory in Grenoble (nearly 6 billion euros of investment and a thousand jobs). A (partial) response to the semiconductor shortage. FedEx to increase its workforce at Roissy by 1,200 jobs.
Few job cuts, with the most important announcement of the past fortnight, that of some sixty jobs cut by Just Eat France in the Nord region of France.
We have also identified a number of companies that are threatening jobs: Tenneco, Manufacture Française de Textile, CHANTIER NAVAL CHANTEREYNE, Chapter.com, ...
Another successful round of fundraising, with $600 million raised for Contentsquarein digital marketing; €200m for IDEX in energy transition engineering; NOUS anti-gaspi raises €8 million to sell slightly unusual food products; Sorius, cycling coach applies AI techniques and raises €500K. And many other interesting startups that we can't mention here...
This week, we've chosen the company Vivlio. Seeking funding to expand in Europe, the startup wants to offer a range of digital books combined with e-readers, independently of the industry giants.
