Our monitoring of the most important industrial projects in June was once again marked by investments in electronics.

The most important investment of the month was made by Sino American Silicon Products Inc. The project calls for a USD 5 billion investment in a new 11-inch wafer production plant in Texas (USA).

There are also 4 photovoltaic module/panel plant projects in China for a total of 1.7 billion USD of investment, 17 automotive projects (including 4 in electric vehicles), 16 chemical investment projects (including 2 battery recycling projects and a major lithium project for electric vehicle batteries), 15 new renewable energy or green hydrogen power plant projects, and 9 agri-food projects (poultry, coffee, chocolate, bacon, etc.).

The project creating the most jobs is that of the Guangdong Gaojing Solar Technology site in China, with 10,000 jobs expected to be created in the production of silicon wafers for PV panels, the second is Okinawa Autotechto produce electric scooters in India, creating 5,000 jobs.

The best project in our Usine du Futur rating is the adhesives plant of German company Henkel in Mexico. The plant has obtained several ISO certifications and the LEED Gold level for its ecological practices in the construction and operation of administrative buildings. The plant is equipped with an automated raw materials process control system, which includes a reduction in carbon emissions, a reduction in electricity consumption of up to 25%, and a specialized recycling system for cardboard, paper, plastic and wood.
